happy sunday! i've spent my extra time today listening to the General Relief Society Broadcast from the women leaders of my church. these are divine and called women that share special, inspired messages for the women in our church right now. visit this broadcast here.
the gospel is amazing to me. listening to fellow members share their testimonies and encouraging us to share each other's burdens and pray for each other warms my heart. my family has been through a lot, and our hearts still feel broken, but the spirit that comes from listening to these beautiful women and the prophet brings so much comfort. i feel it witnessed again and again that if we take our burdens to our Father in Heaven, we will find peace and assurance. there is no other way to deal with grief and sadness than to go to Him in prayer.
"For after much tribulation comes the blessings."
"Nothing that happens is a surprise or a shock to Him. He is all-knowing and all-loving. He is eager to comfort us, and ease our pain as we rely on the power of the atonement and honor our covenants."
Linda S. Reeves, General Relief Society Broadcast, Fall 2013
it was mentioned multiple times about how to raise our children, and it kind of hit me hard... again. i will be a mother soon! this baby is coming any day now and then i have a divine responsibility to teach her everything she needs to know! that sounds a little bit overwhelming to me, but it also feels like exactly what i was prepared to do! i can't wait to meet this little girl and do my best to teach her everything i can about the gospel and jesus christ and how to find true happiness!
and i love our dear prophet, Thomas S. Monson. his sweet wife passed away recently, and he stood strong and firm while mentioning her. he also has such an amazing sense of humor! i love his light-heartedness. in fact, this message is one of my new favorites! it touched my heart in a way i needed it right now. i love this gospel, and i know it is perfect and true. i can not wait for General Conference next week!! (hopefully, i'm not in labor haha)
