baby update: weeks 32 - 34

update: week 32
the baby is definitely growing and squirming! she loves to kick or punch my right side near my rib cage. sometimes when people are feeling her move when she does that, they are so surprised at her intensity. maybe my baby will get her father's athletic genes! my hips are starting to feel it now. i notice the ache most when i'm in bed trying to roll over. i absolutely cannot sleep on my back, so i spend a lot of my time trying to get comfortable. i've also noticed that my fingers are swelling because my wedding ring doesn't slip on and off that easily anymore. in fact, most of the time i don't bother putting it back on. ALSO, i had my first practice contractions during this week. they woke me up and i always wondered if i'd know what contractions were when i first felt them, but it's just one of those things... i woke up and thought "these are definitely those contractions Dr. Cox said would start." so i didn't panic, they weren't going to kill me or anything, and just waited for them to pass. i'm pretty sure i felt three. then, all settled down and i went back to sleep. no big deal, right? things are getting intense but all of these things mean i'm getting closer and closer to holding this girl! and that is very very exciting! where did these last eight months go?!
update: week 33
again, i got another head cold. i guess i'm asking for that working at a daycare, but it truly is a horrible experience while pregnant. there is not a lot that can be done for nasal swelling so when you can't breathe, you can't breathe. especially while laying down. so say goodbye to sleeping! i still had some nasal strips and spray that i used again. there was minimal relief. also the sore throat is hard to deal with without ibuprofen. tylenol just doesn't cut it. this was also the week we moved from mccammon to our apartment in pocatello. we were fortunate to purchase an air conditioning unit for the living room, but there was nothing for our bedroom. that night i got three hours of sleep, and that was only after i finally got smart and moved out to the couch underneath the AC. my body has also seemed to get a bit more achey. i don't know if that's due to the sickness or growing baby- maybe a little of both. speaking of growing baby, this girl is a rolling machine! i still feel her a lot on my right side and the movement has become a lot of rolling and stretching type feelings. i'm falling more and more and more in love with every movement!
update: week 34
i can tell i'm starting to REALLY be getting close because the swelling has set in. i didn't notice anything at first, but then my ring stopped fitting. sad day. i still love that thing so much and feel terribly alone without it, but it simply doesn't fit. so i noticed it in my hands first. then, i started noticing it in my feet as well. especially first thing in the morning. that's when it's a little painful and even walking to the bathroom sucks. luckily, this is enough to get drake to rub my feet since he's not much of a foot-person otherwise and i've been getting a little spoiled. luckily, the painful part starts wearing off fairly quickly and hasn't affected the rest of my day. my hips are definitely starting to throb a little more often, especially at nighttime, but that too doesn't affect most of my day. so i'm still feeling very fortunate that this pregnancy has for the most part been nice to me! (i've already started forgetting about the horrendous nausea at the beginning!). i'm getting more and more anxious to meet baby zenna and finally hold her in my arms!!
