clear back in middle school when all the local elementary schools combined, i gained a new friend in zane marley. we always just teased each other and goofed around together, and never ruined our friendship with silly "going out" stuffs or anything. there is even an infamous story of him literally carving the word zane into my forehead with a broken sharp edge of his school id. it scabbed over and both our mothers completely freaked out. talk about embarrassing. another great story is when he was walking up the stairs in our high school and i was following. i decided to be a punk and step on the back of his heels to give him a flat tire. he assumed i was his buddy ethan gray, and without even looking back or hesitating, he lifted his leg back in mule-like fashion and kicked as hard as he could in my direction. he made solid contact with my face and sent me reeling backwards down the stairs where i collided into the wall at the bottom. yeah, that happened. he, of course, felt terrible about that. really terrible. but we ended up having a real good laugh about it and now it makes for a pretty great brother-in-law story.... because he is officially my brother-in-law! during our senior year of high school, he developed a crush on my little sophmore sister and boom, they hit it off. ask bailey, i called it from the very beginning too. i told her "zane is a good guy. he's a catch. i know if you date him any longer, you'll want to marry him." and i was right.
it was a beautiful wedding, but before we enjoyed that... we partied. i helped my aunts host a bachelorette party and a bridal shower the week before the wedding. it was a lot of work and planning, but they both turned out so great! the bachelorette party was limited to friends and cousins and people that wouldn't be easily embarrassed because the plan was to embarrass her. which we did. i researched some fun games that we could all play and without going into details, here's some pictures from only one.
there was some other games, and we did laugh and laugh and laugh until i thought i might go into early labor. it was a really fantastic and memorable night for her.
the bridal shower was extended to our family friends and neighbors that could come without any worries about seeing or doing anything too embarrassing. luckily, we had just as much fun here. i did a little imitation of the newlywed game where i had already asked zane a bunch of questions and then bailey had to answer the same way or suffer through additional pieces of hubba bubba. she did pretty good. one of the memorable questions was "what animal does your mother-in-law remind you of?" zane answered "a peacock because they're beautiful, but loud." we all got a pretty big laugh out of that one. he also said he'd like to start trying for a baby on the honeymoon... that answer may have been to scare his mother, but my fingers are crossed that baby zenna gets a cousin SOON! bailey got spoiled both nights and i think her parties can be called a huge success!
now for the wedding:
holy cow, this was beautiful! i can't wait to get all the pictures back of the reception and decorations to add! but we worked and worked to make sure everything was perfect! my uncle adam built their archway for their wedding gift and it was stunning. as they first kissed as man and wife, rose petals were released from the top of the archway and showered over them. it was beautiful. all the groomsmen looked fantastic and handsome, and us girls looked pretty fine ourselves. the dresses were perfect and HER DRESS was amazing, incredible, perfection.
these two are honestly two of the happiest newlyweds i've ever seen! they truly are picture perfect!
