life is pretty good right now. i am getting an adorable baby bump that grows from day to day (and often surprises family that doesn't see me for a few days) and i'm generally comfortable. i have invested in one pair of maternity jean shorts (apparently wearing yoga pants 100% of the time isn't okay) and boy, they are actually worth it! it's just so comfortable to not be squished into your zipper and button. towards the end of this week was the first day i used a pony tail to do my skinny jeans up. so we're getting somewhere. but still no baby movements - that i can be sure are baby and not just my body at least.
update: week 20
i'm officially half-way done! wow! that is sooo crazy. i am still very comfortable for the most part, and zero nausea for a few weeks again. the most pain is sometimes in the night i'm awakened by a sharp, stretching feeling in my lower stomach region. i guess those muscles are stretching and that's a good sign! i've also discovered i fit into my "fat pants" that i had to invest in my freshman year of college after gaining ... some weight :) eventually that came off and i went back to my normal sized jeans, but now i'm back in the fat pants and enjoying every second! i really am loving this "being pregnant" thing!
may 26, 2013: definitely officially felt first baby movements. now that i realize it, i think i may have felt something here and there for a week or two now, but i could never be thoroughly convinced it was baby until this day. i was sitting on a chair eating apple slices and boom, all of a sudden i felt what to me feels like a little baby kick several different times, and this wasn't gas or other bodily functions as can sometimes be confusing when pregnant haha. the kicks weren't only in one place either. now i'm even more anxious to get our 20 week ultrasound to see this baby move!
may 29: the day of our ultrasound! here's a video of parts of it!

IT'S A GIRL!!!
when we first saw that image of her cute little bottom and the tech told us we were having a girl, i definitely teared up. wow, such an overwhelming feeling to know you're going to be a mother to a sweet little daughter! i think i was half-way convinced she was a boy, and i know all our families had been calling her emmett every time they spoke to her, but as soon as i heard "girl", i just fell completely in love and was lost in daydreams of dress-up and hair ribbons. it took a little while to figure out who she was. i had to roll over and the tech tried to maneuver her little bottom around because she was sticking her bum right directly underneath my bellybutton, which was making things difficult. also, she kept moving both her hands down between her legs, and sometimes her feet would come up tuck up underneath as well. she is quite a mover! the tech could hardly get a focused shot of her for the ultrasound because she kept wiggling around every second. also, we watched her multiple times move her hand up to her mouth and suck on her thumb! i don't think my heart could have melted any more after seeing those sweet little movements! her little heart beat exactly how it should, and each limb looked perfect! i think my favorite is her sweet little leg, calf, and foot. i almost can't even stand the wait now! i just want to hold and meet my sweet, precious angel!

So happy for you guys!! Congrats!! :)
