update: week 17
with week 17 came a few off days. maybe i had gotten overly confident that all nausea would be gone for good because there have been a few days with mild nausea and sunday brought three new puking reminders (two during church). but, the nausea is very mild, and so i am still feeling really great. pretty much all the food aversions are gone so that makes staying fed a lot easier which probably helps. i feel like this week i've exploded! i'm definitely feeling like i look more and more pregnant every day! it's definitely getting harder to hide, which i'm a little bit excited for because that also means it's getting a little harder to confuse with just getting fat- i'm still worrying about that. we've scheduled the ultrasound to determine if i'm getting a son or daughter first, and my mind has been filled with daydreams. also, with that nearing, i'm looking forward to feeling first movements.
update: week 18
this week was better than last week. it's amazing how after each puking adventure, you try to analyze what may have caused that to happen, and how you can avoid that. of course, this is all just random BS that i try to console myself, but every once in a while, i just might be right. so my weird conclusions: don't eat really hot food (like steamy oatmeal) simultaneously while drinking cold drinks (milk)... the smarter thing is to finish one or the other and take it slow - and i may have developed pregnancy car sickness. most of the times i've puked lately has been in a car after long drives back from drake's house up the windy road to the top of the mountain... so maybe since i have been abiding these new rules this week, that's why i've puked less :) i really have no idea, and i don't think anyone does, but i'm just so grateful that for the most part this pregnancy has gotten a lot easier. i just got a full-time job at daycare center in pocatello and i'll need to be in my best health and energy states in order to keep my sanity! and i'm continuously amazed at shocked i still sometimes am to look down at my baby bump and realize it's really starting to pop and show!! of course, i am only two weeks away from 5 months at this point, and that's half-way, so i should be showing more and more, but like i said, it's a complete shock. my brain is filled with wonderings about if this is a little baby girl or boy, and i'm frustrated that i have zero mother's intuition about the matter! drake won't even make a guess when i ask him to. he'll just wait and see. but i am extremely anxious and excited for two more weeks to pass!
