8 months is pretty much how long most women know they're pregnant... and that always feels like forever. but these last 8 months have flown by so quickly! our lives are incredibly busy and that just makes days seem to come and go, but i want to cling onto these first year moments forever! being a mommy is even better than i could have imagined (and i grew up daydreaming about being a mama) and it's also harder than i could have imagined too. but it's so worth it. going to school all day is hard. leaving her there in bed with her daddy is hard. coming home is amazing! staying up late trying to get a fussy baby to sleep is hard. finding time to do homework is hard. but who says i need straight As or to put 200% into every assignment? it is helpful to think of priorities and always just striving to do my best. drake is incredibly supportive and helpful. he is daddy all day and husband/money-maker all night. he gets home late and gets up with zenna. he does a lot of the laundry and dishes. he always completes chores so i don't come home to a wreck. we don't see each other a lot every day, but we're doing what we need to right now and making it work. all this so i can experience one of my dreams of being a real teacher!
i am so grateful for this wonderful life i lead!
okay back to zenna!
she has mastered the pincer grasp and loves feeding herself.
the baby food excitement was short lived. when she loved it, she loved it, but now she doesn't care much for it. she wants what we're eating. so we do that a lot now.
she has mastered clapping for "Yay, Zenna!" or "Patty-cake" and also waves hello/goodbye
she's SO CLOSE to crawling. she is definitely getting mobile. i'll set her down and look away for a few minutes, then she has scooted somewhere else!
she's close to standing and walking
she's close to standing and walking
she continues to give huge cheesy smiles to anyone giving her attention, but still no teeth!
she continues to grow LONGER all the time
her hair is really fun to play with now. she has some random long strands in the back near her ears that never rubbed off when the other hairs did... i just can't bring myself to cut it!
she still wakes up happier than anyone i've ever seen
she loves to splash and play in water and pools. we go a lot with our best friend, rj
she loves loves LOVES going outside. that change of scenery really makes her day. i do a lot of homework on the grass outside our apartment
she stayed overnight with auntie bop and jess, and then with grandma gunter... but she hated the whole time and screamed most the night... she likes her mama when she's sleeping (or my boobs)
we still nurse once or twice during the day and all night, but otherwise she's eating big girl foods
she still wakes up during the night three-four times to nurse. we'll be excited when that ends!
she talks and tells stories all the time

She is soooo cute! Way to go mama! You're doing so great with all of these things that you are busy doing. I love seeing all of the updates and I miss you!
