Z is 9 months!

how does 9 months go by in the blink of an eye?! time has sure flown since my tiny dark-haired baby came into the world. nine months sounds so close to one year . . . and that's just a little scary because one year sounds a little close to eighteen years! (i may or may not have already have a few panic-stricken breakdowns about how i'll ever be able to let this little one leave me for college!)
but this past month has been an exciting one for us! zenna has learned so many new things!

she gained two teeth! while teething both teeth simultaneously, she also developed her first ear infection. those few days were exhausting and miserable. for both of us.
she's a crawler! she can crawl the regular traditional way, or use one knee and one foot in what i call the "gimp" crawl.
she still prefers to stand and get help walking around though. drake has practiced running with her, and that's her favorite. she can crawl to couches or coffee tables and pull herself up. i expect her to start walking anytime now!
she has added shaking her head back and forth for "no, no, no, no!" to her waving and patty cake tricks.
she will even tease you. she leans in for kisses or loves until you lean into her, then she jerks away and giggles like she's hilarious. but she is.
she also has a "challenge" pose that, in my opinion, seems just like a goat preparing to charge. she lowers her head lower and lower while keeping eye contact, then attempts a head-butt. if you do head-butt with her, she giggles.
she LOVES her mommy. she'll come visit you and give you loves until she sees her mommy, then she dives out of your arms. sorry ;)
she absolutely loves being outside, or even just staring out the window. often times, she insists on looking out the window first thing after nap time.
she is very friendly and excited around other tiny humans . . . but she's pretty much a bully. she likes to slap faces, scratch, and/or pull hair if she's not head-butting. it's difficult to discipline a nine-month-old!
she has mastered drinking liquid up a straw now. (she definitely has not had any practice on multiple mcdonald's coke or fountain mountain dews . . . )
speaking of, she has a huge sweet tooth. the only pureed foods she'll still eat is sweet potato. but she does the cutest little dance if you let her nibble on some candy.
she still loves feeding herself and some of her favorites are pancakes, scrambled eggs, watermelon, or buttered vegetables.
there's a good chance she's spoiled rotten, but just look at the cute grin! ah!
