holiday recap 2012

our first married holiday break was a success!! it was full of all the most important things in life!!

we started by having our own "christmas morning" for each other before we went to idaho. lets be honest, i wanted drake to look nice in his new wardrobe i got him, and we didn't want to take all our gifts for each other along with the gifts for our families to idaho. it was so much fun, and we both got spoiled! 

i got him basically all clothes (great deals on the day after thanksgiving meant i got a lot for only a little!) and i also got him NFL Madden 13, but he had to wait until christmas morning for that one :) he got me a lot of great things such as a new video camera!! i'm soooo excited for that one!! and new glasses. this is a funny story because since being married, many of my glass cups have been broken.... i don't try to blame him for that, but he replaced them and it was a fun laugh. also, my new heated blanket has become one of my most favorite items. i have absolutely loved it. 

then, we traveled to idaho for a christmas eve at my house where everyone opened their gifts from us and we ate a big dinner. i've learned that one of my very most favorite parts of christmas is watching people open the gifts from us. i get so excited and it feels good to see them light up too. everyone was pleased and it was a great night, all caught on video of course :)

then, we spent christmas eve night and morning with the Mays. it was so much fun! christmas morning in a new home was a fun surprise! santa came and spoiled everyone a lot. kali cracked everyone up and we all loved the morning. i especially loved the christmas music that had been playing all night long. it was a fun effect as we all ran to the living room. 

christmas night we traveled to pocatello to be with the Babb family. again we were spoiled rotten. i love that loud, crazy, chaotic place! it is full of turmoil, but also love. again, i loved watching people open their gifts from us! perfect reactions!

then drake had to go back to work for a few days, so i stayed behind to spend more time with the family. it was great. especially when we went and watched Les Miserables!!! it was amazing! definitely a new favorite! i was a little bummed drake didn't get to see it with us, so i'm sure we'll go again! 

finally when drake got back to idaho, we drove to island park for a little snowmobiling and snowy fun with the Gunter family. we took off on snowmobiles and drake even went off a few jumps. he's thinking he might want one now. the evenings were filled with movies and taboo and phase 10. 

then it was time for new years. and after a quick december birthday bash at my uncle adam and aunt tiffany's house, we headed up the mountain to celebrate with drake's family. there wasn't a lot of us until after the actual midnight event, but by 1:30 am jarik and his buddies showed up with another xbox and tv. this, of course, led to an all-nighter. i hit the sheets loooong before anyone else, although the noise level kind of prevented any decent sleep. drake managed to stay up with all the guys all night long. but our day wasn't near over yet. my aunt gaby's brother and family from costa rica were up visiting for christmas, so they came out to McCammon where we took them snowmobiling, sledding, and shooting. they loved it! although, their poor boys were frozen from the cold. milton and carolina both shot a clay pigeon and loved the snowmobiles. it's always fun sharing some of the idaho activities with other people. drake also did an impressive job shooting. 

overall, it was a long break full of family and fun. we couldn't have asked for a better vacation for the holidays! to top it all off, my new social security card came in the mail.... so now i am legally Sierra May!
