yesterday was the last day of the semester. today is the reading day (which means NO El Ed 202... this is seriously the best thing about the semester ending on a thursday) and all i have left to worry about is finals that start next monday. this shouldn't be that bad of a finals week for me. i've only got one final i'm more than slightly concerned about, and hopefully after a few dedicated study sessions with great study buddies, i'll feel better about that one too.
this past week was more stressful than usual. we had a few financial stresses pop up, due to buying our new (to us) car, and that caused me one or two new headaches... along with desperately attempting to finish my music 378 illustrated children's book before thursday. i was painting for two hours on monday night (making my total hours of painting over 10 for the project), and then 2 1/2 hours on wednesday in cougar creations busy with printing, cutting, and binding... that whole situation was just a huge, loooooong mess. but finally, on thursday i turned it in. i was pretty proud of it. i'll be printing off additional copies for my mother and grandmothers as christmas gifts.
spending my entire night working on that book made me really late and grumpy getting home. tuesdays and thursdays i'm out late because of work, and wednesday is supposed to be my relaxed, cleaning, and catch up day. so of course, i began bugging my husband to pick me up a coke (he was going to the store anyway) and he said no!! so i persisted in complaining and being a brat about how easy it would be to pick up a coke! he kept saying no, until he finally said, "i won't get you a coke.... because i already did. it's in the fridge."
dang, he's good. he had already thought about me that day and had been considerate enough to bring me home a coke. i seriously fell in more love with that guy. i couldn't be happier. i'm blessed to have a sweet, considerate, loving husband who really does work hard to make me happy. i love him so much.
after a day of cleaning, testing, and cooking... we had a date night with our new friends jennica and rusty. i cooked dinner for us, and then they drove to salt lake city to see the temple square lights. yeah, i realize we've already been there last weekend... but it's just SO great! jenna and rusty hadn't been yet, so we were all talking together and decided to go. it was such a great night!
and... we got a candy apple... and it was pretty much heaven.
overall, this weekend was pretty stressful and crazy with the semester ending... BUT we ended it on a good note with good friends!
december 8:
one of our friends here in provo has a jewish heritage, and therefore likes to celebrate Hanukkah. i've never even come close to an experience like this, but it was so much fun with authentic singing, candle-lighting, food, and games. drake and i both enjoyed our time visiting with friends and trying new things. we really are so blessed to have so much fun and really good people in our lives.
i'm very loved.
