day of love 2014

our life has changed a lot since zenna. it's especially easy to notice that when holidays roll around because everything is so much more exciting and completely revolves around the baby. neither of us mind.
valentine's day 2014 was a good example of this.
first of all, drake was in charge of the plans. no surprise, he chose buffalo wild wings haha. it had been a awhile since we'd eaten there and there was a legitimate craving in full swing. but also part of this decision was because of zenna. going anywhere super fancy with a baby is hard, right? what if she has a freakout? also, she loves the big screens all over bww! it actually was a really sweet gesture from my sweet husband because he said if he had to think of somewhere that was "our place" he'd definitely think of b-dubs. and that's true, last year we had many special dates at buffalo wild wings (one of them celebrating the news of zenna officially being on her way!)
painted feet!
next, it was so much fun this year thinking of a valentine gift for "daddy." drake is the best and genuinely appreciates sentimental gifts, so that made it extremely fun! i think it's safe to say we pulled off a pinterest win this year! (although zenna screamed the entire time, she doesn't like playing in paint yet haha). dassia and i spent thursday painting and preparing the gift. it turned out great! then, we had fun making special cards for the grandparents!
then, valentine's morning consisted of drake getting up and making me breakfast. i know, spoiled. he's the best. after i got up too, i added some chocolate-dipped strawberries and we enjoyed a meal before i left for work. when i got home, we all took a nap for a few hours before going to bww and getting our wings on (ps, they switched to pepsi! boo!) finally, we ended the night pulling the mattress into the living room and renting despicable me 2. such a family-friendly night, but it was perfect for us. i feel so lucky to have the cute little family that i do!
