baby update: weeks 26 and 27

update: week 26
other than continually getting larger each week, everything is very much the same. i'm loving being pregnant and enjoying every little movement from baby zenna without too much discomfort yet. it is getting to be a hot summer and i have another trimester to go, but right now, i'm still feeling okay! something exciting that has happen is our good friends from provo, chris and hanna, had their baby! she was a little more than one trimester ahead of me and i always watched everything she was going through and tried my hardest to prepare myself. when we heard the news that baby rylie jane was here, i kinda had a slap in the face moment like "holy crap, her pregnancy really ended up with a real baby and now they're really parents... and that's what's going to happen to us in a few months!" ... i felt like i had been lost in this "pregnancy" haze for a while, and i forgot that there would be a labor, delivery, and a real baby! then, i started thinking about how amazing this whole process is... literally one teeny, tiny cell from me and one teeny, tiny cell from drake results in a full functioning body and somewhere along the way Heavenly Father delivers one of his precious spirits and i am the vessel that brings him or her into the world... it's a miracle, and it happens every day! i was thinking about how amazing and godlike the process is to bring a spirit into the world and i got the chills. our Father must trust us a whole lot to let us take care of one of his children for a while, a very important while! their mortal testing happens under our direction and care... that is some pressure! i'm so excited to take on that role as a mother, though! after thinking about all this and getting a little freaked out, i was extremely comforted and content that it is good and right and there are so many additional blessings of help when needed. i'm grateful that drake and i have the gospel to help make us the best parents we can be, to help us teach our Father's children the way he'd want them to be taught. congrats chris and hanna on your beautiful rylie jane! i can't wait to meet her and i have no doubt you'll be amazing parents!
update: week 27
according to my baby bump app, i've officially begun my third trimester! whoop whoop! honestly, that time did go by pretty fast and i'm as anxious as ever to meet baby zenna!! for the most part, i'm still feeling great and very excited! i can tell i'm starting to get a little more squished and things like sitting down for too long gets pretty uncomfortable. i just have to make sure to move around and give her some room! last weekend, i did overdo it a little bit and feel the effects. i spent all day friday cleaning the house in 1) preparation for bailey's bachelorette party and 2) preparation for my grandparents to get home for a visit from minnenapolis. then, we partied pretty dang hard for bailey and followed that evening up at the good ol' mccammon rodeo. the next morning, after a mere five hours of sleep, i spent the morning and afternoon watching josey play softball in the heat and touring the idaho falls zoo. well, i started feeling crampy. i knew this wasn't a real good sign, but they weren't intense so i didn't feel like these classified as contractions. i did mention it to my mother however, and she about lost it. all her nursing knowledge can sometimes be a little inconvenient because she stresses so much. but, it's also extremely helpful. immediately she prescribed drinking as much water and rest as possible. so i found a shady spot under the trees and took a nap. the pain never intensified and we ultimately decided it was just my body warning me to take it a little easy. so i have been trying to be a little more careful, but all is well and we are pretty anxious for this countdown to continue!!
