our first two weeks of being married were completely uneventful (besides the magic mountain trip). we didn't do much of anything besides swim in the pool in our backyard. but the relaxation was much needed after our busy week and i'm not complaining.
however, our third week of being married has been completely packed with events. for one thing, cinta's traveling softball team came to vegas! drake and i went to watch her play as often as we could and it was really great seeing some family. cinta totally rocked it too. she's a stud. props to all the softball girls who manage to play multiple games in the brutal sunshine and heat!
then, my first week of teaching summer camp started. it seriously is my dream job. i love every aspect of it. i love lesson-planning and trying to find ways to make learning fun and exciting. luckily, most montessori students already love to learn which makes my job easier. i'm always astounded at the creativity and knowledge these students possess. my first week was Crime Solvers Week. i have to post some pictures of my favorite activities. first of all, i brought in as many costumes as i could get my hands on (turns out, the school has a storage unit dedicated to decorations and costumes from previous school plays. goldmine.) and we talked about what it takes to make a good spy. one of the things is a good disguise. so i had every student first think of their mission. they had to fill out a book complete with their foe, mission, accomplice, gadgets, and how they completed their tasks. then, after they had their story put together, they made their spy ID cards which had their secret identity on it and their codename. the kids had a blast coming up this stuff. first is sabrina. i loved how she wanted to be an evil asian. then, little lauren. she is one of my most favorite students. she is very sweet and smart. last christmas, her family sent me a christmas card because she has taken to me as well. she also surprised me with how she jumped into character for the picture. i'm not exactly sure what her costume is supposed to be, but i know she wanted to look like a man.... and she pulled it off pretty good. another fun side note of lauren is while acting out our live mystery, she was the robot and cracked me up the whole time. every single line she said. was. in. ro.bot. voice. it was awesome.
then, bradley is on the right. he is the sweetest boy i have ever met in my life. he has perfect grammar and manners. he came up to me this week and said "i am happy." when i asked why, he explained how while playing with these block things, his friends had needed some more pieces. he had his share of the pieces, but he gave them all away to his friends so they could use them. and this made him feel good inside. seriously he's a sweet boy. BUT is he not the spitting image of malfoy?!?!?!?!
the next favorite activity of mine that the kids loved was our "spy training" which was basically ten rounds of minute to win it. kids loove minute to win it. this i the game where you put a cookie on your forehead and move the cookie to your mouth using only you face muscles. it's hilarious to watch. especially with kids. this was a fun day.
also part of spy training was our laser training. of course the kids
loved this (thank you pinterest!) emery is my own little martial arts
specialist and he whipped through the lasers with ease. he is also one
of my favorite students. i shouldn't have favorites, but i do.
next busy night of the week, drake had a
mission companion come into town. he insisted on eating at hooters.
so i got my first hooters experience with my husband and his former
mission companion. awesome. unfortunately, i don't have any pictures of
hooters. however, while walking the strip, my handsome hubby had to get
this picture with bumblee :)
the next two days were filled with some of our favorite people from back home. nate and abby. these two came to vegas for their honeymoon and were also high school sweethearts like drake and i. even though they were on their honeymoon, they still hung out with us and we had a blast. our first night together we went and saw a musical - Crazy For You - at a super cool outdoor theatre. you come before the show with blankets and a cooler full of food, then picnic before it gets dark. once the sun goes down, the show starts. it was really fantastic. i loved every minute of it.

| yes. they look super cute. and my husband is a butthead. |
then, the next night i rushed home from work so i could catch some swimming time with nate and abby at our house. then, we went to my favorite buffalo wild wings to eat and watch the big game. i think it will be one of our frequent eating out places because i simply love the wings. a lot. and drake loves being surrounded by sports. so it's a win-win. this is our only picture of the night dangit but aren't they just the greatest?

to top everything off with our great week together, i had breakfast brought to me in bed. yes, i have the sweetest husband in the world. i am one lucky girl. i definitely didn't deserve this however. the lady we are staying with needed a ride to the airport on thursday morning. she needed to leave the house by 5:30 am. lori asked us to fight over who had to take her, but drake said he'd take her. that way he could come home and go back to sleep. this way i could get a little more rest before going to work (this first week has kinda kicked my butt, i've been exhausted). well he waited until my alarm clock was going off then presented me with this beautiful tray of goodies. seriously the sweetest guy ever, right?
